Notifications
Notifications are OfficeTalk's electronic equivalent of the post-it note. Notifications differ from E-Mail in that they provide instant messaging over the top of any Windows application. There are four types of Notification: Simple, While You Were Out, Yes/No, and Respond. Each of these has a clearly identifiable function.
For example:
When a user logs onto the system, OfficeTalk will display all the notifications that have been sent to them since their last OfficeTalk session. Notifications can also be used to inform other users of urgent internal meetings.
